Dorwin makes it two in a row
Dorwin is celebrating two major new business wins since using Eurocell’s profile systems.
The most recent, Wessex Housing Group, involves refurbishment of the housing association’s entire dwelling stock as part of a four-year programme.
The company will be supplying and installing windows and doors fabricated using Eurocell’s Eurologik profile system.
Prior to securing this latest new business win, Hampshire-based Dorwin had been awarded a contract by the London Borough of Haringey for its Decent Homes scheme. This is a 12-month programme to replace existing doors and windows in the borough’s housing stock.
Dorwin, which specialise in the commercial sector, has 23 highly-trained fitting teams with a track record of meeting the needs of clients and residents. This is backed by over 25 years’ of solid trading history, which provides customers with highly engineered product solutions, as well as long term supplier continuity.
“We are delighted to be the preferred supplier on both these prestigious contracts,” explained Darren Harrison, Managing Director at Dorwin. “Being dedicated to the commercial sector was a huge benefit during tendering, as it meant the client was confident that we could deliver on our promises.”
Dorwin takes steps to minimise disruption to residents during the refurbishments on all its projects through the work of its resident liaison officers. They provide an invaluable link between the needs and concerns of the residents and the fitting teams on site.
This approach, where Dorwin treats each resident individually, has enabled the company to create a reputation for excellent customer service and one that was recognised by both Wessex Housing Group and Haringey Council.
Another crucial element of winning the new contracts was Dorwin’s ability to demonstrate highly developed environmental policies. Its dedicated teams monitor waste management activities and ensure end-of-life windows are deconstructed for material segregation and removed to its dedicated post-consumer recycling operation.
Dorwin is one of the few companies to continue investing in its business during the current economic climate as senior management take every opportunity to develop and retain staff. The business recently celebrated the fact that over half its workforce has completed NVQ level 1 or 2 training.
“Over the last few years we have made major investments in our people and business systems,” adds Darren Harrison. “We now have a team of highly skilled people, which immediately instills confidence in clients and residents.”
Dorwin windows are manufactured to BBA standards, as well as being produced and installed to the International Standard BS EN ISO9001: 2000. Dorwin holds a BS7412 certificate for fabrication of windows. All products carry a 10-year guarantee.
Dorwin was shortlisted in last year’s G08 Awards for the Social Housing Project category.
