Roomline is the Perfect Solution for Refurbishing Homes

Roomline is the Perfect Solution for Refurbishing Homes

18th November 2011

The houses in Goole, East Yorkshire, were affected by unusually high flooding earlier this summer, which resulted in a need to replace the floors, re-plaster walls and fit new skirting.

The social housing provider chose Roomline as the new skirting because it saved a huge amount of time in terms of installation – its clever design means that it simply slots together to form perfect 90 degree angles, removing the need for specialist trades on site.

A further benefit is its long term durability and that fact that there is no ongoing maintenance requirement, unlike timber or MDF alternatives, which are affected by moisture and can be damaged by everyday knocks and scratches as well as requiring regular redecoration.

Roomline is available as a skirting or architrave system and is made from recycled PVC-U, making it equal to timber in terms of sustainability.

It can be fixed in around half the time of traditional skirting using everyday contact adhesives, avoiding the need for drilling or screws. It features a PVC-U gasket to improve air tightness and reduces uncomfortable draughts for homeowners, whilst the space behind the gasket can be used as a neat cable tidy solution for low-voltages cables.

The Eurocell branch in Selby delivered 400m of Roomline to the housing association properties in Goole on a call off schedule. Roomline, along with over 4,000 other quality building plastics products, is stocked in all 115-plus Eurocell branches.

The commercial team from Eurocell assisted the housing association by making samples available for tenants so that they could select their preferred Roomline colour from the four available choices. The majority of tenants opted for White Satin, whilst others selected English Oak, Golden Oak or Rosewood.

Chris Coxon, Marketing Manager at Eurocell, said: “Roomline is particularly suitable for social housing projects because the easy-fit system enables housing providers to reduce the time taken for refurbishment as well as ongoing maintenance, which not only saves costs, but reduces any disruption for residents.”

Sourcing from a Eurocell branch has never been easier with customers able to collect items over the counter, or take advantage of free-of-charge next day deliveries on all orders over £100 (exc vat). Alternatively customers can order online at: www.eurocell.co.uk.
