Profile systems A-rated for thermal efficiency

We know that improving energy efficiency to reduce CO2 emissions from buildings is a key driver for all architects and specifiers, ensuring the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes are met. That’s why Eurocell has developed the Thermalogik profile system, which has achieved an ‘A’ rating from the British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) – the highest rating possible. Thermalogik profiles feature a unique six-chamber outer frame for enhanced thermal efficiency and slimmer than standard profiles, increasing the glass area for improved sight lines. What’s more it costs no more than standard 70mm systems – so now there’s no cost barrier to choosing the most energy-efficient profiles.

PVC-U – officially the sustainable choice

You may not be aware that the BRE (British Research Establishment) has awarded PVC-U windows and cladding systems an A rating for domestic and an A+ rating for commercial properties, in its 2008 Green Guide to Specification. The BRE estimates that PVC-U can be recycled up to seven times over a 200-year lifespan. It means you can specify PVC-U components for your homes with confidence, secure in the knowledge that they fulfil the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

What’s more, Eurocell has achieved the internationally recognised ISO14001 accreditation for our environmental management system. Our commitment to sustainability and recycling also means that we can now offer a 100% recycled PVC-U cavity closer to the market.
