New Eurologik gasket system

Post co-extruded (PCE) gasket offers market leading air tightness and weathering performance.

Eurologik profiles now feature a new, improved gasket system to maximise energy efficiency performance. The new gasket enables fabricators to save time and money in the production process, whilst offering better adhesion to profiles, for improved window air tightness and weathering performance.

The post co-extruded (PCE) gasket is manufactured from a specially developed compound and features a two-leg profile connection system and one-way support arm that provides excellent adhesion to the main profile. The new flex is designed to work on a wide compression tolerance band, giving a tight seal regardless of glass and hardware choice. This means fabricators have the freedom to choose the hardware they need to be competitive in the market place without compromising the overall performance of their windows.

Supplying the new gaskets pre-fitted also saves a huge amount of time for fabricators and trials have indicated that this can be as much as ten minutes per frame, which can soon make a huge difference to production efficiency and therefore costs. Bonding the gasket onto the profile within our factory means that it will not move, especially in corners, which are most vulnerable to shrinking.

When independently tested to BS6375 for air, water and wind-loading, the new gasket demonstrated outstanding performance and exceeded the standard required for air leakage by 20 times!

This market-leading performance helps to improve the energy rating of the window by reducing the amount of air that escapes from the building.

This is important as Part L1A of Building Regulations requires all new homes to be tested for air leakage, which is carried out when a house is completed and is necessary for building control to provide the final Building Certificate. Good air tightness performance will give a development a better environmental rating as uncontrolled air leakage makes homes more expensive to heat.
