Entrance doors can be fitted within a day, which means your home remains secure. The installer may need additional time to complete the final adjustments.
The majority of homeowners change the frame at the same time as the door. That’s because timber frames are often the first to fail, either because of rot or the fixing into the wall becomes loose over time. Also, changing both the frame and the door allows you to choose security features, such as Secured by Design specification, for example. Changing the frame also means you are free to choose a new colour and the installer can fit insulation around the frame to improve thermal performance and eliminate draughts.
Internally beaded windows are commonly used today as it means that glazing units cannot be removed from the outside - one method of entry that burglars are familiar with. Doors should also feature multi-point locking systems. For advanced performance, Secured by Design specifications are available on Eurocell UPVC doors and windows.
