A new partnership agreement with Eurocell signals the start of a new chapter in Shelforce’s long and distinguished history writes Chris Coxon, Head of Marketing at Eurocell
Few fabricators can trace their history back nearly 200 years but then Shelforce, a Birmingham based manufacturer of PVC-U doors and double glazed windows with a predominately disabled workforce owned by Birmingham City Council is no ordinary business.
Shelforce has signed a new supply partnership deal with Eurocell that will see it become the latest fabricator to adopt the full range of the UK’s most highly rated PVC-U window systems, Eurologik and Modus, as well as PVC-U and composite doors.
Shelforce dates back to 1839, when it was a workshop for the blind but over the years its role has gradually expanded into providing employment and training for people with various levels of disabilities.
The partnership with Eurocell is the latest step in Shelforce’s journey which its Business Manager Howard Trotter sees as a crucial step forward. Importantly, Eurocell will be able to supply material that is not only competitively priced but also offers market leading performance with both Modus and Eurologik, amongst the first window systems to achieve the WER highest standard of A++ within months of it being launched”.
“We are really looking forward to working with Eurocell as they can supply us with systems and products that are very competitive with other companies at a time when we are looking for both significant efficiencies and a high level of product differentiation” comments Howard Trotter.
Eurocell, as part of this new supply partnership, is bringing significant new investment to Shelforce. It will be investing approximately £50,000 in supplying software, tooling and machinery and providing its 23 strong workforce with ongoing product training and support from its technical team.
“The product range is not only innovative but it is very broad so we can offer complementary services to cover other elements, such as soffits and guttering. We are also impressed with the level of business support that Eurocell is able to offer and this will help us to win new business through its sales, marketing and technical expertise” Howard Trotter notes.
“Shelforce is a natural partner for Eurocell with its extensive knowledge and expertise of working within the education, new build and social housing sectors, all sectors that we are focusing in on for growth” explains Eurocell’s Head of Business Development Paul Colman. He also noted that Eurocell are very proud to be working this closely with Shelforce and supports and endorses “corporate social responsibility” within the work place, primarily in Shelforce’s case, providing employment for people with disabilities.
Paul points out that Shelforce has a lot to offer, being ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited, as well as possessing PAS24, 2012 the police preferred accreditation, so that all its products offer enhanced performance.
It also offers the USP of being a “corporate socially responsible” supplier by providing employment and training opportunities for its disabled workforce. This partnership between Shelforce and Eurocell is yet another important chapter in Shelforce’s long history contributing towards its mission of being a profitable provider of quality PVC-U windows and doors and known as a supplier of choice, value and social responsibility.
