SELECT launched at FIT show

If you managed to get to this year’s FIT show and the Eurocell stand then you might have seen the launch of our new industry initiative. We are calling it SELECT and it’s the sector’s first solid conservatory roof Approved Installer Scheme. Designed to give scheme members a competitive edge and boost business, SELECT will seek to address homeowners’ fears about product and workmanship quality, encouraging them to engage approved companies to carry out work.

Built upon the company’s popular Equinox solid conservatory roof range, SELECT is being operated in partnership with certification body, CERTASS, and is the first independently audited and accredited scheme for solid roof installations.

The scheme features a two-year workmanship (installation) warranty that includes an insurance-backed guarantee (IBG), a free to use alternative dispute resolution service (ADR) and a comprehensive marketing support package.

Membership will be limited to 150 companies during the introductory period, so it will be a race against time for professional installers seeking to grow sales and profit to sign up on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Those ‘early adopters’ will get free entry to the scheme, discounted CERTASS accreditation and a significant Eurocell contribution to the first year’s subscriptions.

Entrance to the scheme includes typical ‘professionalism criteria’, such as meeting the terms set out in the CERTASS competent persons and quality assured installer schemes; and surveying for, and installing, Equinox, in compliance with Eurocell specifications. This latter element will be audited by CERTASS too.

Head of Marketing, Chris Coxon, believes SELECT will prove attractive for both the trade and the consumer. “ Traditionally finding suppliers for home improvements has always been a headache for homeowners. Concerns over reliability, quality of work and cowboys all add to the stress. SELECT will give them greater confidence in their choice. For the participating installer the scheme provides a competitive edge over rivals and, crucially, more sales and profit opportunities. For example, last year we referred over 2000 leads to our Equinox installers and for SELECT we are targeting £100,000 investment in lead generation.”

He continues: “The conservatory market has changed. Once homeowners were prepared to invest five figure sums in a garden room for occasional use. Now they want to maximise their plots with a room they can use 24/7, 365 days a year. The result? A burgeoning conservatory roof replacement market. With around four million conservatories already covering Britain, this means plenty of opportunity for SELECT members.”

Air Ambulance gets a boost from Team Eurocell

Following our announcement last month that we are supporting two charities in 2017, a group of alleged ‘athletes’ – Team Eurocell – have tackled their first fund-raising initiative by completing the Derby 10K on behalf of the local air ambulance.

The team of 10 colleagues – including some quite avowed ‘non-runners’ – not only all finished the course, but also won the event trophy for being the most successful fundraiser of all the business teams taking part. With company contributions combined with individual efforts, total monies raised for charity amounted to £5000.

The Derby 10K is an annual road running event held every April and organised by Derbyshire charity Sporting Futures. Over 3500 runners took part in the race, which starts outside Pride Park Stadium, the home of Derby County Football Club.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) is Eurocell’s own local airborne paramedic service. Two regional air ambulances fly across the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland; and also provide cover for its sister service: the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. These two helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles and cover many of the UK’s major roads including the M1, M6, M69 and M42.

With each DLRAA mission costing £1700, Team Eurocell is close to funding three launches from the 10K alone – and that is with donations still coming in.

New branch format impresses customers

The revamped format will improve the customer experience, with better use of space, product categories clearly displayed and a consistent layout so that whichever branch you visit you will be able to find what you’re looking for quickly and easily.

With over 250 new lines recently added to our already comprehensive product range, we felt we needed to ensure that our point-of-sale material was both relevant and informative. So you will now see displays of our major product lines with associated accessories, giving you the full picture and cutting out the guesswork.

As part of our brief to give you a better branch experience we have taken your advice and ensured that more product literature will be available for you to take away including the latest edition of our product catalogue.
