Bright, airy and a great sense of space.
There’s no doubt the effect of a large scale Skypod rooflight on a room is truly transformative; bright, airy and with a greater sense of space than can ever be achieved through conventional fenestration.
Skypod Acute Lantern Roof Benefits
Transforming the way we think about flat roofs.
And now, with Skypod Acute, you can bring that transformative effect into even the smallest flat roof extension or outhouse conversion.
By increasing the pitch to a full 35°, we’ve given Skypod Acute one of the smallest footprints in the industry, while retaining a glazed area that gives it the light grab of a much bigger unit - an effect enhanced by the narrow profile frame and absence of sidebars for even more generous sightlines.
Increased light. Increased energy efficiency
As well as solving the problem of how to draw light into more restricted flat roofed spaces, Skypod Acute also ticks all the right boxes in your TER calculations.
Like all Skypod designs, it features a number of innovative energy saving features, including temperature controlling glass as standard. The result is unit U-value as low as 1.0
And with the flexibility to create rooflights as small as 0.5m x 0.5m, energy efficiency that looks great on paper becomes positively miserly in practice as the smaller aperture reduces heat loss to an absolute minimum.
The commercial case
Along with increasing your design options for overhead natural light in domestic projects, Skypod Acute also integrates seamlessly with commercial applications such as schools, offices and hospitals where a 35° pitch is much more common, but where a more contemporary uPVC profile and a choice of up to 30 colours provide a much more aesthetically pleasing end result.
