Eurocell PVC-U building products: The smart and sustainable choice

Global warming is one of the single biggest issues that we face. That’s why it has never been more important to consider the sustainability credentials of the providers you buy from. And it goes without saying that you will want to invest in high-performing, energy-efficient products.

Choose Eurocell: Your environmentally responsible provider

Eurocell is at the forefront of sustainable PVC-U product design. We are
passionate about our environmental responsibilities and we strive to ensure that our products achieve the highest possible ratings for sustainability and energy-efficiency.

Minimising the impact of our activities and products on the environment is at the forefront of everything we do. We strive to find the latest creations that will deliver even higher environmental performance. Our products offer leading energy efficiency and air tightness performance for lower CO2 emissions. To give an even higher level of thermal performance, the thermal inserts used in some of our window frames use 100% recycled PVC-U.

Reducing waste and recycling more

We have invested millions of pounds in our own purpose-built PVC-U recycling plant in Derbyshire, capable of processing 10,500 old window frames per week.  This material is used to make new Eurocell products instead of being sent to landfill. Plus, we re-use virtually 100% of our own waste product in the manufacturing process, to minimise our impact on the environment. And we buy waste product from other sources to recycle it. The result is that Eurocell is a consumer of waste PVC-U products, rather than a producer, which has a positive benefit on the environment.

PVC-U – a sustainable solution

PVC-U is widely recognised as being durable, low-maintenance and energy efficient. Now, thanks to our recent advances in recycling, PVC-U windows and doors are the first choice material for sustainability too. Research has shown that 95% of end-of-life PVC-U windows can be recycled. PVC-U can be recycled up to ten times without affecting quality. With a reference service life of 35 years for PVC-U windows (Source: BRE), this means that PVC-U can be used for 350 years with minimal impact on the environment!

‘A’-rated environmental performance

Our window profile and cladding systems have achieved the highest ‘A’ rating for sustainability possible in the influential Building Research Establishment (BRE) Green Guide to Specification. We have also developed a window system that achieves the highest BFRC energy-efficiency rating of any double-glazed PVC-U window available in the UK and achieves U-values of 0.8, meeting the needs of the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 (2016) for carbon neutral properties.

We understand that replacing windows and doors is a major investment and we realise that you want the very best performance. When you choose a Eurocell product, you’re making the best possible investment in the future of your home and your environment for years to come.

Our long-term environmental commitment
Our environmental policy commits us to ongoing improvements that will help to reduce carbon emissions from transport and energy use, improve energy efficiency within our business and offer more energy-efficient products to our customers, as well as reducing waste and promoting recycling.

We have gained  accreditation for our high-standards of environmental management and commitment to ongoing environmental responsibility. This means that the environmental impact of our products and processes is being reduced through the successful implementation of an environmental management system that is certified to ISO 14001:2004.
