The current situation regarding Covid-19 has meant creating a safe and secure environment for all Eurocell Building Plastics customers and branch teams is essential.

With no clear understanding of how long Covid-19 will continue to impact our lives, it is important to carry out ongoing reviews and improvements to the robust precautions Eurocell already have in place. At the same time, ensuring the customer’s buying experience across all Eurocell channels is impacted as little as possible, and where possible it’s actually enhanced.

With this in mind, Eurocell took the action of introducing a virtual queuing system into six branches, as a trial in August 2020. Since the trial was introduced, both the branch teams and Eurocell customers have been hugely supportive and quick to understand its benefits, helping to make a success of the system.

The virtual queuing system means visitors to any of the Eurocell branches are placed in a virtual queue, saving them from having to wait in line outside in the colder winter months. It’s easy to join the virtual queue. By simply scanning the QR code or texting a number provided at branch, a mobile ticket will be issued, and your place will be reserved.

When it’s your turn to enter the branch, a text will be sent to let you know it’s safe to enter and there’s even an option to delay the ticket time, if needed. A place in the virtual queue can be allocated on arrival or in advance when booking an appointment.

Eurocell have created the virtual queuing system to help keep close interactions to a minimum, regulate the number of customers in the branch at one time and reduce any inconvenience to Eurocell’s customers on busy working days.

Andy McDonnell, MD of Eurocell Building Plastics, commented “In the last year we have all experienced months of uncertainty and disruption to our normal daily lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During this period Eurocell has been focused on continuing to support the trade by maintaining our high standards of service, whilst at the same time prioritising the safety of both our customers and branch teams.

I'm delighted that Eurocell can be a pioneer in this technology and I'm looking forward to seeing the positive impact it will make when fully rolled out at the beginning of December.”
