Eurocell plc, a leading manufacturer, distributor and recycler of PVC-U building products, has joined the Government’s Kickstart Scheme, helping to support the national effort of encouraging young people into work and kickstart the economy.

The Kickstart Scheme set up by the Government provides funding to employers, helping to create new job placements for 16 – 24 year-olds on Universal Credit and who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

Eurocell has joined the new scheme, creating 69 new Kickstart jobs, covering different areas of the business. 50 of the placements will be in the branch network, and the additional 19 placements will be in operational and manufacturing business areas, giving young employees a fantastic opportunity to kickstart their careers, learn more about the industry and develop new skills.

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding for 25 hours a week for a six-month period, allowing those who are successfully recruited the opportunity to immerse themselves into the new role. As part of the scheme, Eurocell will provide on the job training as well as structured employability training, providing them with the support they require.

Andy McDonnell, Managing Director for Eurocell plc, said, “We’re delighted to be part of the Government Kickstart Scheme, providing the opportunity for younger people to move forward with their careers. At Eurocell, we’re keen to ensure that the scheme provides a long-term positive impact on the individuals taking on the Kickstart roles.”

Darren Dean, Head of Manufacturing for Eurocell plc, also commented on Eurocell joining the scheme; “The Kickstart Scheme provides an exciting opportunity to encourage younger people to become more involved in our industry. It will help ensure those with the placements get the experience they need and consider a potential career within the sector. We’re very pleased to be able to support this valuable scheme.”
