It’s that time of year; days are longer, the mercury is rising (supposedly) and homeowners are giving their properties a spruce up. Whether it’s repainting the living room, or replacing a front door, we’ve looked at the latest colour trends for spring/summer 2019 and how you can implement them to ensure your property stays bang on trend.

The grass is always greener

Playing into the biophilic trend from 2018, dark green is a colour that is both rising in popularity and simple to incorporate into a domestic property. Biophilic design is the art of bringing the outdoors in, to encourage relaxation and positive mental well-being and is set to be just as popular for the upcoming seasons, with summer 2019 seeing forest and olive tones used throughout the most trend-led homes. Green is a calming colour, so we would recommend using this in spaces designed for relaxation, like living rooms. If you want to take the biophilic trend a step further, why not have bi-fold doors installed within your property. This will open up your living space to the outside, incorporating the outdoors and all the benefits nature brings.

Grey matters

Grey has been a popular colour choice for the past few years and it seems it isn’t going anywhere. A staple neutral, grey will suit any colour you decide to pair it with which makes it the perfect colour choice for investment pieces like sofas or window frames that you can’t just give a new lick of paint to. Why not look at getting windows or bi-fold doors in anthracite grey to ensure your property stays on trend, but also complements any future interior design choices you might make?

Terra-gotta

Often associated with the 1970’s, terracotta is making a big comeback and is surprisingly simple to incorporate into your home. Reminiscent of holidays in Tuscany and Mediterranean breaks, the earthy shades of terracotta are versatile and varied enough to be used in any room. A few simple terracotta plant pots with succulents can make your home summer 2019 ready. If you want to make a larger investment, replacing a conservatory roof with a brick red Equinox will ensure you’re on trend this summer.

Gen Z yellow

This colour is not for the faint hearted but is potentially the most trend led hue of 2019. Seen on catwalks and celebrities across the world, Generation Z Yellow is a bright, cheerful yellow that we predict will be making its way onto ‘home improvement’ Pinterest boards very quickly. A more difficult trend to adopt in the home, the colour is perfect for front doors, which are often neglected when it comes to updating the home. In fact, our Dales composite doors in can be sprayed in any RAL colour, so you can make sure the first thing guest see when they visit is right on trend.
