Next Generation slides to the rescue
Next Generation Windows Installing Vertical Sliding Sash Windows
Next Generation has recently added the Eurocell vertical sliding sash window to its range because it provides homeowners with improved fire safety, along with superior aesthetics. The company, which is based in Hilsea, Hampshire, supplies and fits high-quality vertical sliding windows, as well as composite and bi-fold doors, for commercial and residential customers, and has more than 19 years' industry experience.
Eurocell's vertical sliding window offers improved fire safety because, at the touch of a button, the sashes can be quickly folded inwards and down on top of each other. This helps the window comply with general provisions outlined in Building Regulations Part B (Fire safety) - as long as a window has an unobstructed opening area that is at least 0.33m2, 450mm high and 450mm wide, it is deemed sufficient as a means of escape in the event of a fire.
Next Generation preferred the Eurocell vertical slider because it offers superior aesthetics compared to other systems on the market. This is created by a combination of slimmer sightlines and attention to detail on styling, such as decorative horns and Georgian bar fixings. This was important for the company as it will be fitting the window in many distinctive and architecturally significant properties.
This latest addition means that Next Generation now offers one of the most highly engineered vertical sliding products available. It captures the stylish look of the Georgian era, combined with the low maintenance and energy efficiency benefits of PVC-U.
Next Generation's new vertical sliding window has an anti-jemmy bar to provide security and protection from break-ins. A triple seal achieves outstanding results for draught proofing when compared to traditional vertical sliding systems, providing homeowners with better thermal efficiency. The slide-and-tilt mechanism also allows access to the outer panes, making them easy to clean and maintain from inside a building.
Next Generation is finding that vertical sliding windows are becoming more popular as they help to keep homes cool and fresh on hot summer days. By partially opening both the top and bottom sashes, it encourages clean fresh air to enter the room through the lower sash whilst the warm stale air exits through the open top sash. This ability to constantly keep air circulating in the room ensures properties remain cool and comfortable.
Andy McClelland, Owner of Next Generation, comments: "Since we have started using Eurocell’s vertical sliding sash window, we have had a large number of enquiries from customers and are currently fitting numerous projects across the country. They represent great value for money and are renowned for their aesthetics as well as providing customers with improved fire safety."
Eurocell supplies the vertical sliding system in both white and cream profile colours along with Rosewood and Golden Oak finishes.
