On a sunny summer day, there’s nothing nicer that opening up your easy-glide UPVC bi-fold doors and letting all that natural light in. But what about those cold, wet and windy days of winter? What about insulation?

Again, it’s all about quality in design and engineering. Our exterior bi-fold doors have a square-edged profile to ensure a continuous weather and wind-tight seal for the double glazing units. Rest assured you’ll stay warm and cosy no matter what the weather, with double glazing that’s thermally efficient. In fact our U-values can be as low as 0.9, to keep your heating bills down.

Tested to BS6375-1:2009 (Performance of Windows and Doors), our UPVC bi-fold doors go much further than the minimum standard set out for the most extreme weather test. They also meet the British Standard minimum requirements for construction, security, safety, weather-tightness and strength of performance.

Always a smooth operator

Exterior bi-fold sliding doors can sometimes be a little heavy to open; even those which are easy enough to begin with can get progressively harder to move over time.

We’ve avoided this ever becoming an issue with your UPVC bi-fold doors, thanks to the clever design of our smooth opening superior glide action. You can’t see them, but inside the frames are rolling support units, each with four horizontal rollers and four vertical stainless steel wheels. Combined with our unique D-handle, finger-operated shoot bolts and grab hinge handles, the overall mechanism means easy one-finger opening – a gentle push is all it takes, and that’s the way it stays, year after year.

Solid security and technical performance

You won’t find a more secure fold doors specification than Aspect. Ours is the only upvc bi-fold door system currently on the market that meets advanced security and technical specification standards. Aspect is approved under Secured by Design – the official police security initiative that tests to higher security standards, offering increased protection against break-ins. The design also has PAS 24 security certification.

On the technical side, our bi fold models also have British Board of Agrément (BBA) certification - the performance benchmark by which building products are judged.
