What's the difference between fascia and soffit boards?

Fascia boards are fixed to the edge of your roof, running horizontally and supporting the bottom row of tiles and the guttering. Soffits sit underneath the fascia board, bridging the gap between the fascia and the wall. While fascias provide structural support and weather protection, soffits help ventilate the roof space and protect the underside of the eaves.
