Come and see us at the FIT Show - stand D20
If you are visiting this year’s FIT Show at the NEC, Birmingham, make sure you pay us a visit. We are on stand D20 where we will be exhibiting four of our most popular ranges – including some great new range additions – namely Skypod, Modus, Dales Collection composite doors and our market-leading conservatory collection.
One of the highlights is the new Skypod Acute roof lantern. As the name suggests, it features a steeper pitch of 35° – 15° more than the current Skypod design. The new 35°pitch is strikingly different to the standard, making it more suitable for commercial applications such as schools, hospitals and offices, where this pitch is better suited to larger, multi-storey buildings. This market tends to be dominated by aluminum, and the new Skypod provides an aesthetic and cost-effective sales alternative.
Also on show will be additions to our popular Dales Collection range of composite doors. The three new panel designs – the Elton, Hartington and Newhaven – deliver ‘on trend’ farmhouse and contemporary styles and are complemented by six further glass patterns to further increase choice for the specifier, developer and end-user.
The new introductions bring the total of front and back composite door combinations to 15 styles in 15 colours and 18 glazing options, from modern ‘chic’ to traditional Edwardian or cottage style. The collection also comes in a wide array of colourways from Contemporary – such as Anthracite Grey – trough to Heritage, such as Chartwell Green.
Stand D20 is also host to Modus our high-performance, high aesthetic window system. Featuring a 75mm six-chamber profile system, the Modus range delivers optimum energy efficiency performance and can achieve a U-value as low as 0.7 W/m2K. The first PVC-U window and door system in the UK to offer a 12-year guarantee, Modus casement windows were among the first to be awarded the new A++ WER.
The range also includes Modus S, a mechanically jointed flush sash casement window, which combines modern materials with a truly traditional appearance. The joint detail adds considerable authenticity to the window and enables delivery of a product with the true look of timber, while retaining all the performance benefits of PVC-U. Furthermore, it is up to 25% less expensive than the nearest equivalent PVC-U flush sash product.
Finally, the stand will also show for the first time the company’s brand new additional conservatory range – namely the Lusso internal pelmet and Highline Gutter System. With a striking depth of up to 413mm, the Lusso pelmet combines with the added height and depth of the Highline Gutter to create an on-trend orangery effect from standard components.
We can also confirm that other yet-to-be-announced developments will debut on the FIT Show stand, taking the total number of new products and initiatives being showcased at the event to at least six.
Security Hardware becomes part of Eurocell
In March Eurocell completed the acquisition of PVC-U Window and Door hardware distributor, Security Hardware Ltd. With a turnover of approximately £4 million, the business is a major supplier of domestic security hardware products and services the trade, merchanting and maintenance sectors through multi-channel operations – trade counter, direct sales and online.
With 3000+ lines from all major brands – such as Maco, Winkhaus, Millenco and Mila – Security Hardware has a solution for the clear majority of new or replacement installation and applications – including the obsolete.
The acquisition enables Eurocell to grow its own hardware sales, the Security Hardware business and deliver a comprehensive hardware service to trade customers. The enlarged distribution network will prove invaluable to both national and local contractors, in building and maintenance, seeking rapid supply of the vast majority of popular hardware security goods.
Commenting on the sale to Eurocell, Security Hardware Managing Director Nigel Ridgway said, “With 30 years’ experience in the door and window industry, and with an intense focus on quality and customer service, the Security Hardware fit with Eurocell feels like a great one and is bound to benefit both businesses. Using our expertise, we are continuing to expand our range in this category, while the group can look forward to more products being rolled out across its fast-growing branch network. It’s a win for everyone”.
Mark Kelly, Eurocell CEO pictured, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Security Hardware into the Eurocell group. It’s truly exciting to align with a business with such a track record of success, and one that complements the Eurocell business model so perfectly”.
Bags more choice for customers
As our branch network expands so too is the range of products we are now offering customers. An additional 100 products have recently been added, on top of the 150 new products that came on stream at the end of last year. That’s a massive 250 new lines now available in branch.
You can read all about them in our new 28-page catalogue, which is available on the counter, but to give you a flavour new lines include dry verge roofing components and membranes, high quality laminate flooring that has the look and feel of real wood and new insulation boards and quilts.
Remember you can shop three ways – order by phone by calling free on 08000 77 88 88, order online at www.eurocell.co.uk/buyonline , or go to your nearest branch which can be found at www.eurocell.co.uk/branchfinder.
Charity comes first
Eurocell has announced a powerful new initiative for 2017 that sees the company adopting two charities – one national and one local – for which to ‘officially’ raise funds.
The two charities are the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Starlight seeks to brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by ‘wish granting’ and by providing fun, entertainment and distraction for children in every children’s hospital ward and hospice throughout the United Kingdom. All Starlight’s activities are aimed at taking children away from the pain, fear and isolation they can often experience as a result of their illnesses. Starlight’s year-round programme helps over 500,000 hospitalised children every year.
The DLRAA is Eurocell’s own local airborne paramedic service. Its two regional air ambulances fly across the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland; and also provide cover for its sister service: the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance – both organisations being part of The Air Ambulance Service Charity.
Mark Kelly, Eurocell CEO, says of the fundraising scheme, “You can only commend the initiative of our people in supporting on these two fantastic organisations – it’s totally indicative of the great spirit that we have here in Eurocell. We are in uncertain times and, in days like these, charities cannot rely on the largesse of the public in their usual way – and we imagine every penny will be most welcome, not least by those assisted and cared for both by Starlight and the DLRAA”.
Modus delivers stylish results
When the owners of an imposing Norfolk farmhouse approached Steven Beasley, managing director of GJB New Build, for replacement windows he knew it was the ideal photo-opportunity for Modus flush sash windows.
“The property looked perfect for the Modus S window and I knew it would demonstrate just how good the window would look to prospective customers,” he explained. The five-bedroomed house in Besthorpe, Norfolk, stood in its own grounds and required 24 windows throughout to replace the timber windows that, 25 years’ previously, the local planners had insisted upon.
The Modus S mechanically jointed flush sash looks identical to its timber equivalent because there is no diagonal weld at the corner to show that it is fabricated from PVC-U and because its sleek sightlines are unbroken by external bead lines as, like most contemporary windows, the system is internally beaded for enhanced security standards.
“Modus offers homeowners an attractive variation on the PVC-U window and for new build its very good energy performance means we can achieve the required standards without having to fit triple glazing, which clearly has benefits in terms of cost,” commented Steve.
And now the owners of the property can enjoy all the features and benefits that 21st century windows can offer together with the appearance of timber windows – but without the burden of repainting and repairs.
