Cavity Closers FAQs
A cavity closer is a critical building component that seals cavities around wall openings and provides a rigid template for bricklaying, and window or door installation.
· Provide a damp-proof course (DPC)
· Provide a thermal break
· Prevent damage from condensation
· Reduce heat loss and CO2 emissions
The cavity closer acts as a seal, preventing water vapour and damp from entering the cavity wall and the building, whilst also preventing heat loss through the gap. They can be used in a range of different construction types, including masonry, timber frame and steel frame systems.
